Dans une discrète et verdoyante arrière-cour du quartier du Temple à Paris, l’Atelier RICHARD Orfèvre perpétue la fabrication artisanale de couverts en argent massif, le métier et le savoir faire de l'orfèvre cuillériste selon les méthodes traditionnelles de l’orfèvrerie française. Depuis sa création en 1910, l'atelier n'a de cesse de se renouveler et s'affirme comme spécialiste reconnu des travaux de restauration d'orfèvrerie ancienne.
La frappe du marteau de forge, les presses à balanciers et l’excellence de RICHARD Orfèvre résonnent encore dans l'atelier. Ancrer cet héritage dans son temps est un défi permanent. Plus que le préserver, le faire vivre est une exigence. La création contemporaine et le respect d’un savoir-faire transmis de génération en génération animent désormais l’atelier.
Pour célébrer son centenaire d'activité, de savoir faire et d'artisanat d'art distingué par l'Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant, l'atelier RICHARD Orfèvre a convié NON SANS RAISON à réinterpréter son savoir faire dans une collection de couverts en argent massif présentée à la Gallery S.Bensimon en Avril. Ruth Gurvich, les 5.5 designers, Frank Sorbier et Serges Bensimon ont aussi répondu à cette invitation créant ainsi une véritable symphonie créative autour d'acteurs de la scène contemporaine. Un grand merci à l'atelier RICHARD Orfèvre et à toute son équipe qui a permis et soutenu cette belle rencontre.

Prompted by the luxury tableware, RICHARD and NON SANS RAISON by their materials and their ancestral craft techniques closely related, reflect the French know-how. We have reinterpreted the silverware named Uni-plat echoing our collections, emphasized its two main facets, distinguished them by a different design :RECTO : revealed the architecture and symmetry of the silverware with our design, regular points creating a continuous dotted line.VERSO : developed two alternatives to the fingerprint.
STAMP OF THE CRAFTS
It's a nod in the direction of the finger marks left on the silverware, our fingerprint tributes to know how that improves our creations, inseparable from the hand of the artisan.
SINGULARITY
It is also the transmission of heritage from generation to generation that we wanted to show by the possibilities to appropriate its silverware by customizing them with his own fingerprint. Not only this fingerprints are a distinguishing, contemporary and alternative feature to the coat of arms and initials but also a share of our heritage and a noble way to leave an indelible trace in history.
